What is so unique about My Life Story As Lived & Written by YOU ?

It's fun. Answering the questions and filling in the blanks is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Of course, there is a serious side to the book, just as there certainly is to life;  but the main event is a positive and joyful reflection on life's better moments. The fun and clever format very much dictates a lighthearted experience.

I'm thinking of this book for my elderly dad, but he's not exactly "lighthearted"!

Lighthearted is really the work of the book's format and not that of the individuals who answer the questions! "Build it, he will come," kind of thing. Or perhaps in your dad's case, it would be more like "Let him fill-in-the-blanks, he will smile!"

Okay, but what about my 95 year old aunt who can hardly see to write?

Either you or a younger member of your family can do the writing honors for her. I promise you, that younger "scribe" will be in for the learning experience of a lifetime. Quite a few laughs and stories too, of course, but a personal history lesson like nothing ever taught in any classroom! Both sides of that experience will thoroughly enjoy it. (Great idea for a school or youth group project, by the way!)

So is a completed My Life Story really an "autobiography" ?

Well, it is in the sense that the book's "author" (whoever is answering the questions) is able to give a bit of their life's history, tell what they think about a wide variety of topics, and add any favorite moments or stories at the end of each of the ten chapters. So it absolutely reveals in a very positive way the personality side of anyone who completes it. Anyone looking at the answers later would have a pretty good feel for what that person was like and a fair amount of information about their life.

Will most people actually fill in all the answers in this book?

We're back where we started in that My Life Story is first and foremost . . . fun.  It's fun, so it gets done!  No doubt the hard truth is that it really serves as an alternative to nothing at all, which is what most of us end up writing on our own. Even so, if someone just went through and answered the questions without actually writing anything down, I think it would still make a marvelous gift just for the smiles and the memories it provides in the answering process. Essentially, it's a "can't lose" sort of gift book offer!
