Paradise Blogged
- An Online Novel -

Paradise Blogged IconParadise Blogged is a serialized novel written in the form of an online blog, so it only stands to reason that it should be presented as an online blog.

The short introduction here would be that Paradise Blogged is basically a mystery story about a man who finds himself unable to enjoy an afterlife that is far from heavenly for him personally. This discomfort takes him on a quest to figure out exactly where he is and precisely why he is not enjoying Paradise.

Read a day or two (exactly 500 words each) and you will quickly discover whether this story is a literary paradise according to your particular reading taste! One hopes.   -DDF

THE J.M. DANTE REPORT FROM PARADISE - DAY ONE

Death is just one of those dreaded events of life that seems so traumatic until you experience it yourself and then you wonder what all the hoopla was about. My second wedding day was like that. I thought I would be nervous & timid, but it turned out that I wasn't even emotionally involved. That's what Katie said she remembered. Katie's my second wife. Was my second wife. Well, she is the second woman I shared a wedding day – how's that?

The time thing is a problem here. Not sure about others, I'm still new here, but it bothers me. Of course, we all know that people back on earth continue to look at their clocks and wonder if there is time to make love, time to stop at Starbucks, or time for a "bonding" conversation with the kids before the real day begins. Ha! The real day. That's funny.

The first thing you realize after you die is that you spent way, way, way too much time working and not nearly enough doing important stuff. Work is important, sure, but it's not the most important. Not by a long shot.

So this is my first official blog from paradise! Hope you like it. Mostly, I hope someone even reads it. I realize it will never be seen on earth because of the time thing I was just typing on about, but perhaps some of the folks up here in heaven will take the time to check it out. After all, that is one thing we all now have plenty of  ---- time!!  Although, the truth is that we don't actually have any. There isn't any time here. Just the present. Which is why this blog is going to be a little tricky. The people here in heaven don't ever talk about the past except for the past on earth. But what happened before in heaven doesn't have any real meaning apparently. Maybe my great new blog doesn't either!!!

Like most blogs, of course, I expect it will have meaning for me. Even if nobody else in the world reads it, it can still be a good way for me to come to grips with what I'm really feeling about life in my new paradise existence.

The truth?

I'm having trouble adapting. Probably I'm just displaying my natural slowness adapting to anything. Which isn't surprising. It was always a challenge back in the day. Back when there were days. This whole died and gone to heaven deal is going to take some serious mental adjustment.

And that's the reason for my new blog. Maybe if I can keep up with what I am thinking as I go, then this initial uneasiness I'm experiencing will make more sense. Let's hope!

Real discipline is built into the heavenly (not!) software, just so you know. I'm limited to 500 words a blog and an overall format that just has to be from the other place!

Hopefully, it'll help keep me focused.

Later.
